Mom has been doing oil painting for several decades. She followed famous sketch and oil painting master LEE SHIH-CHOU while she was a twenty-year-old young teacher at SHUAN-UEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOl in Taipei, Taiwan. Since then she had participated in Teachers' Art Compitition for several times.
Mom and Dad got married at 1958; my brother was born the next year, and two years later my sister was born. When my brother and sister were old enough to take care of themselves, my parents got me. Mom seldom had chance to paint again until she was retired from her teaching career at 1989 for her first grandson, my sister's first son. She started painting again. Flowers and our neighborhood Tienmu became important elements in Mom's painting during 1989 - 1996.
After our family moved to Vancouver, Mom has been spent more time on painting. She has explore scenery of Banff, sakura (cherry blossoms) in our neiborhood Surrey, gardans in Richmond, even the moon hang upon my sister's house. Everything around her could be the element in her painting. She always sketches the scene on a small card, and work with color at home while making her special Taiwanese cuicine; then bring her work onto canvas when she has time. The art pieces you are going to visit are from the small cards, and soon we'll put oil paintings in this virtual gallery.
This gallery is named after Mom. She is the art consultant of the website. One thing i should tell you here, those nice handbags you see in our style site are all made by our mom.
